No play there

The team went down to the coast to play our match. We were surprised when we arrived to see how much rain there had been and were told that some of the roads were shut due to flooding. It had hardly rained at all inland. We were lucky that the match was due to be played indoors on clay. It was the first time I had played on this surface and I enjoyed the experience. We were roundly beaten against a team much stronger than ourselves, but I was quite satisfied that I played well even though I lost. The high point of the day was the lunch and conversation we had afterwards. They had prepared a chicken and salad meal with cheese and puddings which we all enjoyed.
