To the jungle

Our ferry arrived at 10am to very grey Newcastle. But at least it wasn’t raining …
Had a brief emergency stop at Jedburgh to buy breakfast -bacon rolls. Yum, missed those. Then home.
Lovey greeting and welcome from my pal - key holder and keeping-and-eye-on-the-house person. She’s had her work cut out as a few weeks ago a toilet cistern upstairs sprung a leak and soaked through to the room below. She and another friendly neighbour did a great job on damage limitation. But that’s a job on two rooms for us to tackle now. Could have been so much worse if she hadn’t been there to spot it.
And then the garden - lovely and wild and autumnal. Lots to do but not urgent! Nice to be home.
