Light on a dark day

Drumming in the morning, followed by a sociable coffee with some of the drummers.

Dashed home afterwards to tackle a few chores, to discover that MrM had already done some of them, and had also made a lemon drizzle cake in honour of Judith and Phil, who came for tea - and cake - this afternoon.

No time to cook after that, so we caught the early bus in to Huddersfield and enjoyed pie and peas at the Head of Steam. Very tasty! The barman set us one of the tables reserved for the jazz club, so we wouldn't have to move after we'd eaten. MrM jokingly remarked that all we needed was a candle and a bunch of flowers. Two minutes later the barman re-appeared with the candle, and a pot plant he'd removed from a window sill! He also brought his newly made bottle light - may make one when we empty a suitable bottle at home. There followed another excellent evening of jazz, Rod Mason on sax was in good form.

Tried to avoid the news today, after learning that Trump is President Elect. Seems incomprehensible that a sexual abuser, known liar and convicted felon should be allowed to stand for President, especially one who has already tried to undermine the democratic process. And it's beyond me that anyone should want to vote for him.
The world seems a more dangerous place today...
