Assorted Dereliction Day

I took myself on a ‘Buss Pass Walk’ today - bus to Wetherby, then walked along the old railway line (now a foot/cycle path) to Spofforth.

Walking along the main road there, I spotted these derelict farm buildings. A little further along the road there is a fabulous old road sign pointing back to Wetherby A661 (see first extra)  - these old painted cast iron sign are a relic of a bygone age of motoring. It is obviously no longer maintained - but it is nice to see it still standing.

I also visited Spofforth Castle - which is well ‘ruinated’ to quote the information board there - see second extra.

On the way back I stopped to catch a glimpse of a splendid old bridge over the sweeping curve of track, close to where Wetherby station was. A nice autumn glow with the fallen leaves…see extra three

Nine miles walked in total - 22k steps. Beers earned I think…
