At the exhibitions
Richard and I went into town after lunch, so that we could take a look around the Photo Society exhibition together (I'll be helping to dismantle it tomorrow afternoon). There were lots of people looking at it, often with some absorption - it was great to see that (extra).
Nearby, in the Millenium Gallery, there's a recently-opened exhibition about art and mothers/motherhood. We went in for a look; it's really excellent. My main image today is 'Biological Clock', by Lea Cetera. I really liked this one: it's witty and beautifully-made, and it also makes reference to all the pressures on women about fertility, femininity and motherhood (themes of reproduction and reproductive health being rather on my mind, in this week of Trump's election victory in the US. Today's Guardian has a long feature about that. Women are stockpiling abortion pills, fearing increasing restrictions).
