Mandala
A busy day today as the Well, Well, Well? exhibition moved from Tralee down to Ballydehob in West Cork where it's remaining for the rest of November. The Artist did most of the work and I just rocked up for the opening. - a slight panic as the projector was an old one and took a while to get started and was then a bit fuzzy but hey ho. The mandala is made from chrysanthemums and the floor was artistically strewn with ferns and more chrysanthemums plus the odd sprig of mint which got aromatically crushed as the evening wore on - the extra shows the gallery pre guests. Opened by Anne Davoren, the director of Uillinn Gallery in Skibbereen, she did a very good job off pulling all parts of the project together. Then the Artist and I were in conversation - thankfully quite briefly! A good crowd turned up and as usual, the mixture was eclectic and stimulating: artists, poets, archaeologists, folklorists, herbalists, herbalists, farmers, a DJ and a dog.
We collapsed in Bally Bia with the Artist and her chap for curries and an excellent halloumi salad afterwards. So I reckon that's just about that now! A year's work done and dusted.
