990 day of war
Hello, friends!
This week, the main topic in the country has been the U.S. elections. We no longer have our own elections, so it’s always interesting to watch those of others :)
As I mentioned before, I didn’t have high hopes for anything, so the election results didn’t disappoint me. The same can't be said for others in the country, though. Right now, people are divided into two camps—some believe everything is lost, that this is the end for us, that we’ll be handed over to Putin, and the country will cease to exist. Others are glad about the new U.S. president and have high hopes for him.
I try not to worry prematurely and to take everything calmly. Over these years of war, I’ve come to realize that my previous ideas about the world were not accurate. No matter how much I stress over various situations, it doesn’t help, and it only makes things worse for me. I don’t know what to expect from Donald Trump, and I feel like no one knows, not in the U.S., Europe, Ukraine, or even Russia. He gives the impression of being completely unpredictable, and I can’t even begin to imagine what his term might bring.
Throughout these years of war, we as a country have been very lucky in many ways. The first days and weeks of the war were truly difficult, but thanks to the heroism of people and a fortunate turn of events, we managed to hold on and wait for assistance. Moving forward, I hope everything will work out well, and I’m not overly worried, as that won’t change anything.
I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing by trying to find something positive in everything, but it helps me stay productive. These are difficult times, and calmness is what everyone needs. Constantly thinking about the war and the possibility of losing and ceasing to exist can make life feel meaningless, and it becomes hard to want to do anything. Over the past week, I’ve been trying more to let go of the situation and do what I can, and it’s yielded results.
I was able to devote more time to my main job and received two orders for T-shirts. The rough patch, when there were no orders at all and my main job also wasn’t yielding anything, seems to be ending. I’m very happy about this, as there’s food at home again, and for now, I can at least not worry about that.
We’re now in a situation where no one knows what will happen next. I don’t think Trump will simply abandon our country and leave us alone with the enemy. No matter what he said before, I just can’t believe that could happen. So, I’m just watching his next steps and hoping for the best.
Thank you to everyone for your support! And thanks for the help on BuyMeACoffee. I hope we’ll stand strong, and everything will turn out fine. Thank you!
