Lost in Thought

A Printing Day

I've been at 'The Imaging Warehouse' near Stratford for a printing training day.  Based around monitor calibration, paper selection, and profiling I found it very interesting.  (I can tell you are not surprised!) There were 18 of us plus the 2 tutors so plenty of opportunity to hear from others who have a different approach, or work in a different area of photography. Pretty sure I was one of the only one or two liking moody grumpy monochrome and the only one trying to reproduce artworks.

We each took along a selection of images and printed them on two types of paper - I was surprised to find everyone preferred Gill's lino print on textured watercolour  rag paper,  everyone except the artist herself that is!  We all preferred my mono beach groynes on the matt baryta paper - which was a good thing as it is one of the cheaper options :-)

I did buy a pack of A3 but managed to forget to collect it so I'll have to go back on Monday.
