Look who I met today!
I woke at 0715, had tea and cereal in bed.
The next thing I knew, it was 0900 and I was due to meet Julie in Hexham for coffee at 1000! I was through the shower and hair wash in quick time and found a parking place where I wanted one.
En route to the coffee shop I met Sheila, who is BJ’s partner. (That’s BJ who lives in San Francisco and walks with us when she visits.) Sheila had a freak accident a few years ago and has suffered from complex pain since. She has recently completed a course of treatment in Liverpool and is feeling much better. It was great to see her looking so well.
I made it to Salute with 2 minutes to spare but it was closed until 1030. Julie came fairly soon and we had our coffee in the lovely Tans café. This will be the last time we meet before Julie has a new knee. Hooray!
I bought organic live yoghurt for Margret in the Farmers’ Market.
Margret was having a bad day. She was very tired and her speech was harder for her to enunciate. She had visits from an Abbey visitor and from the Anglican Hospital Chaplain while I was there.
The physios came and Margret walked with a Zimmer frame across the room. She needs one on each side for safety but it was wonderful to see.
Sarah (next door) had brought me some gluten free and low sugar banana cake which I shared with Margret. Much more suitable than the sugary desserts on the menu.
I came home. Part way through the afternoon I discovered that I had Margret’s mobile in my pocket. Arghh! Fortunately Nicola (across the road) called to see if she could visit and she took it straight in! Phew!
Knitting quietly this evening.
