Busy Saturday, so time for an apéro
I think I fell off the face of the earth for a few days, or it seemed like it. Battling with my mental health and also a bad back. So much so Mme MB did the weekly shopping. I think I needed some downtime, doesn't stop me feeling guilty for shutting down, though.
I've been fighting with our toilet door, more precisely the door handle and lock, which haven't been in a good state for sometime. It was time to modernise it, so I bought a few bits and pieces off Amazon. The door latch then broke, as I was going to fit the new bits, I had left the locking latch out (as I had painted that part of the door) and now it won't go back in again.
As this door hasn't been touched since the 1980's (I kid you not), options are limited for removing the the whole door latch/locking mechanism. It has been painted over several times so the screws will need to be drilled out. I'd rather not damage the door though...
So all that made me feel a bit down (silly eh?).
Anyway, I had to leave it and get on with some lesson planning for Saturday (it'll be yesterday as I write, as we are approaching midnight). It took my mind off things. Then on Saturday I had the 3 students from 9am till 12.30pm as usual. Had lunch and a bit of a break. Then worked from 2pm till nearly 7.30pm, to send out all the homework, then plan the single lesson I'll have on Monday night.
Then it was apero time.
Monday is a bank holiday here, but I've opted to have the one student at 6.30pm. Then after I'll have to set her homework. She is coming back from Kenya very early Monday morning, so hopefully she won't be too tired for the lesson. With the recent school holidays it has been a bit of a gap since her last lesson. Never a good thing to do.
Tomorrow... (now today Sunday), it'll be time to attack the toilet door. I also have a wood cross member on a dismantled bed in our basement to repair, which was broken and split accidentally by one of my sons friends when they had a sleep over a few weeks ago. He wasn't best pleased, neither am I!
