Figgate park

A Second Saturday stroll from Duddingston Kirk hall car park to Figgate park and back via the golf course. The blip is railway wagon wheels repurposed into a bench in the park. The boardwalk by the pond is closed off.

A dozen walkers, which is a good number. Calm dry overcast weather, 8C.  @lovenature posted about a Turkish oak; there were some other good specimen trees on the route. The packed lunch stop was in Dr Neil's Garden; there was, conveniently, a craft fair on in the Hall where we got tea and coffee.

In extra, a pheasant which behaved like a garden resident, knowing it had plenty of cover. There was a good flock of long tailed tits.

I took an x7 bus to Paisley Drive on the A1 to get there, walking the half mile in from there; on the way back I walked by Meadowfield Drive and Lillyhill Terrace to Meadowbank to get a no 26 into town. That route has steep streets, around the edge of Arthur's Seat.
