remembrance and the kindness of strangers

I'm thinking of my Dad and what he went through during WW2. He talked very little about it - just a few stories about India and Burma.

I'd like to talk to him now - but he'd be appalled and angry about the state of the world. The words and slogans he'd fought against, being thrown back in his face.  In his own country.

And then I'd show him the comments left on my previous blip. And he'd see that there are good people in the world. Strangers who take a moment to show a little kindness.  I like to think it would give him hope.  It does me.
