Arable

Another lovely long walk through the woods.  This path follows along the edge of several arable fields.  There was so much rain in the late Summer that it was too wet to cultivate the land.  The farmer has taken advantage of the recent dry spell to drill his Winter crops.  What you can't see in the photo, as their camouflage is too good, is that there is a small flock of nut hatches gorging themselves on the seeds that are not fully covered by the soil.
