Shadow's eye view
After a looong lie in, an afternoon of moping on the couch and the weather looking dry & crisp outside, a walk in the fresh air with Shadow started to sound like a really good idea.
Given the remaining daylight it was a case of better late than never but whatevs, it did and Youngest agreed also. We drove over to Compstall and walked along the green lane that leads to Brabyns Park.
Walking across the playing fields we happened across a family taking their French Bulldog for what was in their words 'a lazy walk'. Not for Frenchie it wasn't. They were flying a small drone around about 3 metres up with it's navigation lights flashing. The little Gallic snorter was running up & down the field eagerly chasing it down!
Climbing up the embankment through the trees we reached Marple Locks and proceeded to ascend them at a pace somewhere between pedestrian & narrowboat-in-a-rush, pausing occasionally to perch on a Lock Beam for a natter.
After reaching the top lock and eventually heading back down the pounds, the daylight soon turned to dark. Reaching Brabyns Brow the wise decision was taken to stick to the roads back to the car. Not quite so peaceful but the wiser choice.
