A visit to my sister’s today. I took a Christmas Pudding for next month and mince pies & clotted cream for today. In return, she gave me this print. I’ve never seen this photo before. We think it’s a copy of a pre-WW2 photo.
In 1959, the second shop on the right changed from a bakery to a greengrocers. I grew up in the flat over the shop: the room immediately above the James Rose sign was our sitting room, and the room above that was the bedroom that I shared with my sister.
