A one track mind
After a morning spent constantly unloading yet more ugh, and a not-long-enough and also not especially relaxing hot shower, it was somehow lunchtime.
Bestie and I had a long video chat afterwards, though, which cheered us up somewhat given our respective lurgies.
Afterwards, while it was still light and in much need of fresh air, I cycled to the shops to look for some BB-recommended cold meds, which I found eventually in a shop I don't normally go to. On the way home I cycled up the little path that was once the continuation of Foundry Lane in Loanhead, round the corner of MacTaggart Scott, the steel fabricators I talked about in blips of yore.
I was amazed to see an intact bit of railway in the council depot. It's the last remaining track from the mass of sidings that were once in this area, serving the Ramsay colliery. The buffer stops are even still in place. Loanhead Station was just a stone's throw to the west, and my old school friend K used to live in the station house there.
Back home with a headache it was time for tea. I thought my nut roast was a bit heavy going: it turned out it was "serves 2"!
