Remembrance Sunday
Before the service a few of us ladies were discussing the different styles of poppy that we were wearing. This is a Marks and Spencer model, worn on my coat, my others are both enamel, come from the British Legion and are worn on a jacket or cardigan. Others in the choir were wearing a knitted poppy and another required assistance to attach one which came with a pin, while Mr Flum had the buttonhole version.
We had an excellent service, with a sermon on 'Why Remember?' and why in church. We must remember but not just those lost to war, we remember all those who have passed. As someone who never lost a relative to war, I find that aspect comforting.
