Little People

Yesterday I was asked if I could look after my Grandchildren today while their Parents worked; of course I said yes as I hadn't planned anything.
I knew Mark was popping round to do the garden, but nothing else.
First things first, I made a Pumpkin Soup for Lunch, then sharp knives put away, then I made a Poppyseed Cake, got it in the oven just in time before my Grandchildren arrived saying they could smell something nice cooking.
Just as my son left Mark turned up, so they had a chat before he left.
Mark was left to his own devise's while I concentrated on the children.
I fed the birds & they watched from the Kitchen Window to count all the birds they saw & wrote it down.
That finished I got out 2 Gingerbread Snowmen from the cupboard & some Icing tubes for them to ice the men; Oh! what fun they had, then time to eat them.
My Poppyseed Cake came out of the oven, but they had to wait for it to cool down before trying it..... mmmm! Tasty!
Time to go home with a big slice of cake for my son, he used to love it when he was younger.
When they'd gone home Mark came in for a slice of cake & a chat, but had to dash off soon after. 
Time to tidy up & make Dinner. :)
