Remembrance Sunday

We couldn’t attend our Town’s Remembrance Day Service today as we were driving down to Northamptonshire to meet up with some of Mr HB’s family.  We did, however, catch some of the TV coverage from the Cenotaph before we went and are now watching the recorded Remembrance Service from last night.

Such a poignant day today for so many and for Mr HB who never knew his Father as he lost his life in the brutal ‘Monte Cassino’ Campaign, Italy, in 1944.  Mr HB was only 2.  I’m afraid I’ve cheated and used the photo I did this very day when I first started Blip in 2012.  My collage also includes My Uncle Dave, also in the Coldstream Guards and also in Monte Cassino with Mr. HB’s Father.  My uncle was lucky; he survived and lived for many years after.

We shall remember them.
