One of the characteristics of Washington DC is that the whole town takes on the persona of whomever sits in the White House: the town is small and the seat of all politicians, their lobbyists, special interests, and of course, the government. Whenever there is a change in leadership, people leave and droves of new ones come in. I am dreading this this time around…

There is already a lot of gloating and taunting (even in this very liberal place where I live): people putting Trump signs in their yards, flying Trump flags on houses and on cars, egging others on in social media posts. It’s bloody awful. They’ve all been empowered…
