Public holiday

Many things are celebrated today in Bhutan:
- the Fourth King’s birthday
- Constitution Day
- the Gross National Happiness Day and
- Children‘s day
- and where we currently are: the Black necked crane festival (see blip, to rejoice and celebrate the arrival of these endangered and majestic birds)

After breakfast, the hotel staff prepared a celebration in honour of the day, with a tribute to the king, birthday cake and dancing afterwards. It was great to see how much they enjoyed the party.

In the afternoon we went for a bike ride on this wonderful plateau at around 2,900 metres.
