Foxglove ( Digitalis purpurea )
Backblip
We were up in Edinburgh to take Kat some things she hadn't been able to take on the train after our Solace cruise and help her with a few things.
As we didn't stray far from the house I wandered round her garden looking for a blip. I was amazed to find this Foxglove in flower. They have all long since ceased to flower down in the Lake District.
Foxgl0ves have evolved to suit bees with long tongues, on other words most of our native Bumblebees. I admit i don't know if Honey Bees are capable of reaching the nectar or not.
