Sunset on Beeline

We walked along the Beeline Way to New Malden, stopping at a Tesco (for wine) before heading to M&R's for lunch. It's always a pleasant walk. I noticed that there's an area where there seems to be a pond. I don't remember that being there before. I looked it up when I got home and discovered it's a recently created wetland.

It's an excellent way to get to New Malden: it's nicer than the train, and I prefer it to the walking route via the golf club. Again, according to the website, the path was developed on a previously closed area belonging to Thames Water. I'm glad they opened it up.

On the way home, I was expecting more people to be on the playing fields, but I guess the sunset explains the lack of people. You don't often see the 'big sky' around here. It goes to show that not everything is built up.
