Just when you think One is Enough.....
I phoned Alex to get a part for our heating and then chatted to the Smiths, who called very early from Inverurie. Being Monday morning the Current Mrs Creel proceeded to Kirkwall for Scottish Country dancing. Time passed. I was at the kitchen table working on the laptop, in a dwam. I heard CMC return, gently drive past and turn the car. She took her time in coming in, but when she opened the door I shouted, ‘Hello darling’. Our postie greeted me with ‘I’ve been delivering your mail for over a decade and now you tell me’. Oh how we laughed. Anway we now have a meeting arranged. Apparently, I’ll be in the rear of the pantomime horse. But only when I’m fit. And I don’t understand what it means.
Meantime, in the Care Home, my mother spent some time chatting about the Bessemer process / cement making / moving gigantic girders into place and coffer dams. In other words she was using industrial language again.
When CMC eventually returned home from dancing she had four sacks of granite chips in the boot. I thought it was my Christmas come early.
