Those Colours Again
I had planned on housework today, honest! But the sun shone, sort of, so I pottered about outside, deadheading the cosmos and campions which are still going strong and attracting the late insects. I refilled the squirrel feeder and the bird feeders and hung out the first load of washing. After coffee break I walked down to the garden centre as we've had wonderful news of the arrival of baby N and I needed wrapping paper and cards. Sadly, we also had a message come through about the death of an orienteering friend Tom, a lovely man and a great park runner. Here is Tom back in 2017 celebrating his 80th Birthday and his 100th Parkrun. Sleep well Tom.
I took a different way home through St Ives to capture the colour, and liked them set against the dark trunk of this tree. It was time for lunch, after which I brushed the steps between ours and our neighbour's houses. She had her walls repointed and, although they did a good job of the work, they didn't do the best job of clearing away the bits of old mortar which had fallen on to the steps/footpath. It was really just an excuse to stay outside!
The day ended enjoyably with a head torch assisted hobble with WilsdenWalker and Hobbler Rickie. Thank you ladies.
