We shall remember them
My poppy vase in front of the tele. A very moving service. My grandad was on the minesweepers and survived to tell the tale, my Nan worked in a munitions factory in Cornwall. After the war they signed up for a scheme and moved to South Africa.
Mr T's Dad was late joining the war as he was in a protected occupation. A dyer and involved in making the uniforms. He saw action in Gallipoli where he lost an eye but never told anyone as it would have meant waiting longer to be discharged. However before that happened he was an army ski instructor in Austria, although it's a mystery where he learned to ski!
