Many steps

The sky at 7.30 this morning was absolutely gorgeous in Glasgow as we packed the car to head to our parking location. Smooth transfer to the bus, drop off was quick and painless and the queue at security moved quickly so we were sitting down to breakfast within 30 minutes of arriving.

We’d realised yesterday that our good friends Stuart and Linda would be passing through the airport this morning en route to Madeira and we managed to catch up with them for 20 minutes or so before our respective flights.

Easy trip to Southampton and our bags arrived in the first half dozen off the plane within 5 minutes. Taxi to our hotel and as I’m part of the ‘right’ loyalty program, we got our room keys before 12.

We dumped the bags and headed over to the shopping centre as there were a couple of items I wanted to pick up. Shopping accomplished we had a bite to eat and a wee wander round the city centre. Time for a chill before a delicious curry in an establishment which combines craft beef with authentic Indian food. The aloo tikka chaat (potato cakes with a spicy chickpea sauce and coriander chutney) was spicier than I’d normally eat but simply delicious.

Back to the hotel for a quick bath and as I’m struggling to keep my eyes open (after clocking over 21000 steps) up I’m going to have to call it a night. I’ll catch up tomorrow.
