Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Out of season

Today's blip is a real surprise, a new water lily flower and our first pink one! I can't imagine it will fully open at this time of year but hopefully it will be more in season next year and do so then.
Today I went to a local bee keeper who looks after the hives at Lauriston Castle to pick up a couple of jars of honey. He keeps a mailing list of customers which I am now on, so he contacts me every year. He has a couple of local outlets, but most of the honey is accounted for. He said that surprisingly, given the poor summer, this is his best year yet. I love having such local honey.
My next trip was on the bus into town, I had a massage appointment at Clarins and before that treated myself to delicious fish and chips for lunch at the Guildford. I like sitting upstairs there and reading my book over lunch. Sadly today the peace was disturbed by an extremely loud American conducting a business meeting on the other side of the room. I do hate it when people do that, I don't mind the business meeting just the intrusiveness of his very loud voice.
My massage, when I went, was great, just what I needed. Sadly my regular therapist is leaving so I'm going to have to get to know somebody new.
I got home in time to relax for an hour before we headed out to Bridge, not very exciting cards tonight but we were pleased to come first. We're already discussing Christmas events and when to break and restart over the festive period.
