Flags Enclosed

This is a group of flags on a roundabout near an industrial estate. Instead of leaving them just standing there on large poles some imaginative person decided to grow trees around them in the 'espalier' style. All the branches have been trained to grow straight and link up with branches from the tree next to it. This then makes a sort of 'cage' around the flag poles. More noticeable in winter when there are fewer leaves but very nice to look at when in full bloom.
The cars hurtling around the road seem not to notice - people lead such busy lives.
