Living my dream

Curling and unfurling

While some of the plants in the garden are developing curliness to grow up and hold onto supports - like the climbing beans In the main - others are sending up shoots which are gradually unfurling into leaves - like the koru of the ferns in the extra.

The koru is a sign of new life and peace. I am drawing strength from it at the moment.

After yesterday's super-short exam session, this morning was the opposite. A handful of today's candidates were still working on their exam right until the three hours elapsed. It was what I think of as a 'writey' exam, so it wasn't surprising to supervise that long.

Thank you for the comments yesterday wishing Bean a speedy recovery. While her ear is definitely not so worrisome, Bad Mum may have hindered things elsewhere by accidentally (obviously) standing on her sore paw.

Much squeaking and a big request for reassurance followed, plus some blood. I felt sick with guilt for a good couple of hours. Of all the dreadful things to do... It does seem to be looking much less inflamed this afternoon though, despite my best efforts.

She is celebrating by chasing down flies against the window and eating them. Dogs can be really unpleasant sometimes...
