Mono Monday - Remembrance...

...Day is not celebrated in Sweden, not either in Finland - so my MM theme photo could maybe interpreted as illustrating peace... - sorry for the previous mistake with the spelling... :O

Scandinavian / Nordic countries were outside the World War I. Even though Sweden was not involved in the war, it was of course affected in other ways. 
Finland had other problems to manage when being a part of the Russian Empire 1809-1917 (earlier belonging to Sweden). The first half of 1918 - after the independence declaration the 6th December 1917 - was very messy due to the Finnish Civil War. This is of course the reason why history lessons during my school time (in Finland) had a lot of focus on all more or less tragical events occurred in Finland during the WW I period.
