There Must Be Magic

Pretty Colors on Cornfield Lane

It was morning. I was on my bike, noodling around the neighborhood. Here is another set of pretty trees I found, this time, on Cornfield Lane. They're putting on their last best show before the leaves fall: just one final bit of glory!

Cornfield Lane is the place where Sock Monkey, the Moose, and several other critters originally came from. I picked them all up off of a table of "free stuff" a while back. You can see a few of those stories here:

I love the names of our local streets. They are called things like Sky Harbor Drive, and Red Pine, and Blue Spruce. And Cornfield, of course, and Stonerow. There's a place near us where all the street names are apple varieties; that's also pretty cool.

In other news, I finished my latest photo book, which is book number 39 in the set, book number 17 in the There Must Be Magic series. It took me under 4 hours to make it. The bulk of that time was spent choosing the photos from the year 2022 to put in it. I ended up using about 86 pictures. This morning, I took one last look at the completed project and placed the order. That's a pretty heavy moment, when you click "Place Order," isn't it?

Oh, and by the way, a while ago, I posted a few tutorials about how to make a photo book online. I usually use Shutterfly, and make the little black square 8-by-8-inch books. Here are two of those postings, in case they are helpful to anyone:

While the initial foray into the photos was pretty emotional for me, given that 2022 was my parents' final full year with us, as I wrapped things up, I felt pretty darn good about the whole thing. Oh, and I gave the latest book its name . . . Precious Time.  :-) For while I did not know it then, that's what it was: our last, most precious time together as a family.

Life is too short!
So why waste precious time?

Our soundtrack song is Pat Benatar, with Precious Time.

P.S. Oh, and Shutterfly, you can stop threatening to move all of my stuff to the reserve servers, now that I've placed an order! YAY!!!! And DONE!
