Therapy? (Day 3473)
Back to work this morning and the continuing saga of finding a route for a pipe to take the waste away from the kitchen sink. The concrete floor under the existing sink was smashed out and I then spent four or five hours squashed in to the space under the cupboard trying to core a hole through the wall to get the waste pipe out of the house. Typically the drill didn't really fit in the space and the drill bit kept jamming in the hole resulting in a fight to get it back out. It really wasn't the best thing for my sciatica.
During a break from drilling I called the GP surgery and was told a GP would call me back. Surprisingly I didn't have to wait too long for the call back, and the GP prescribed painkillers over the phone. Another break from drilling gave me time to collect the drugs.
After lunch, and with the hole finally through the wall, I got the waste pipe routed to the new sink location. I also had to get a waste pipe through from the garage to accommodate the washing machine. The same size of hole through the same thickness of wall took five minutes rather than fiver hours.
I was glad to get home and, while waiting for the return of my beautiful wife, decided to take advice that lying in a hot bath would help ease my sciatica. To my surprise my sciatica did ease off while I was floating around. Sadly it came back as soon as I got out. Fingers crossed strong drugs will sort me out...
