Brick dust and Vomit
The new'ish neighbours, across from us, are having a further extension. This time it's two floor extension from front to back. On the plans, which we can see on line from the Gloucestershire Land Registry, this will give them a garage on the ground floor and on the upper floor an en-suite dressing room for the master bedroom and an additional en-suite bedroom.
The two builders have been putting the tiles in place today but the photo is quite early when this one was cutting the groves for the flashing to be fitted. You might be able to make out the reddish brick dust on the front of his body, he was covered in it!
On the other side of the house the original double garage was turned into bedroom cum wet room en-suite, plus additional equipment to help them with their son who has Multiple Sclerosis. The poor boy has no control over his limbs or speech and you can't do anything but sympathise with the family coping with such a tragedy. They have two other children who are fine and doing really well, the girl is at Kings School, which is attached to Gloucester Cathedral.
They asked if we would have any objections to these plans, which we didn't and wished them all good will with the progress. On the other hand two other residents made objections, ridiculous objections, which were overruled by the planning committee.
I don't suppose the fact the family are Chinese had anything to do with the objections, do you?
They are the loveliest people and we get on with them really well.
In other news today, Marlane attended Parents Evening for both Bella and Hetty, or should that be Grandparents Evening.
Both are doing well, couple of areas to concentrate on, of course, but they are both very well liked at the school and are very popular with teachers and pupils. Can't ask for much more really.
This evening Bella was complaining of a tummy ache, for which we gave her some infant Calpol. It's a bit of a placebo we think but no, not in this case. She got up still complaining of it so she went back to bed (top Bunk) and I stayed with her holding her hand until she went to sleep, which she didn't. About 20:45 she shot up, tried to get to the ladders but didn't make it before a projectile vomit spasm decorated one end of the bedroom!
All of the commotion, cleaning the floor, walls, wardrobe, chest of drawers, stripping the bed, all of this with the ceiling light on, didn't wake Hetty, she slept right through it all.
Bedding washing on, all cleaned up, as best we can for now, and after another vomit session in the bathroom, she's now sound asleep.
Goodnight Everyone, it's been quite an evening!
