Don't Panic, Mr. Mainwaring!

It's hard to believe after such a beautiful day, and a starry and cloudless start to the night, that we are under the threat of torrential rain tomorrow.

Red alerts and official emergency warnings have been arriving by email, news headlines and even the Civil Emergency Alarm sounded a little while ago.

After the horrendous disaster in Valencia and elsewhere last week, no one is taking any chances. All the schools are shut tomorrow and travel strongly  discouraged if not essential.

I for one shall be battening down the hatches and hoping the pups won't decide they need a walk in the thick of it.
