The Carry On Book Club
So grateful for this comfortable, interesting, supporting (but smaller) group that has been together for so long…One was sick and didn’t come today. Everyone got an artist book from me. And coffee from H. This is my new work on projects spot. Much chat and some laughs always,,,,, and election stories, and then yes some discussion of two books The Winter soldier by Daniel Mason and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark (don’t ask why) OH my so different. Love Daniel Mason’s writing even tho it was about WWI in Austria, Russia. It’s about Love. Not sure anyone actually liked Miss Jean Brodie although we’d all seen the 1969 movie with a very young Maggie Smith. There was also a stage play and a tv series.
There is no shortage of poems or quotes from literature about Death and Dying…..I’m looking for stuff that appeals but having trouble. anyone have a favorite? Later…..
