Molesworth Station
On Saturday we went to Lake Tennyson, but the wind and rain was so strong I only took a cellphone photo. Then we went with the wind and followed the river to this gorge on the Lower Acheron, where we had a picnic lunch in the sun.
There is a bridge over this that was rebuilt by Canterbury Uni Engineering School. This from DOC web page
"It was built to replace an older, dilapidated bridge. It is a remnant of the old sheep farming days when St Helens Station had to periodically move up to 15,000 sheep safely across the Acheron River. It is now maintained by the Department of Conservation as a historic bridge."
