Walking to Fareshare
Lovely sunshine again. Was rather taken with this little scene on the busy main road. A few nice leaves lit up by the sun. The building behind the little tree - which I think is student housing - has those lovely white globe lights, but the green framework is a newly built office building behind me on the other side of the dual carriageway. I like the layers of reflections. Had a good morning at Fareshare.
In the evening I went to a resident’s association meeting for the first time ever. The local police were attending. There seems to be quite a communication gap - nobody is quite sure whether to report small things. I thought I’d try to find out a bit more. Briefly, they are staffed at a level that is 30% of what it should be. They do want pieces of small evidence because it can be used to build up a picture of patterns and hotspots. But they emphasised that if you see a burglary or are being burgled always ring 999 and police will come sharpish. I thought it was helpful to set up this communication - you hear sometimes people say there’s no point telling the police. I feel we need to be more positive about it
