Life is a Challenge!

GUESS WHO'S PEEPING THROUGH THE PASSION FLOWERS?

Our dear friend, Heidi, messaged at the weekend to ask if we were around today as she was staying on a camp site in Cirencester and would like to pop in on her way home.  We haven’t seen her since the end of June, so of course, said we would be delighted to see her.

We have both been on a Slimming World journey and she has lost about the same amount of weight as me, but in half the time - but we aren’t in competition.  In fact, she said that one of the reasons she decided to go to the classes is that I had lost weight and she knew she needed to, and then a day later, a neighbour invited her to go with her, so for her it was a no-brainer!

Of course, we compared notes and I made sure that I had prepared food that meant we could stick to the plan and of course, Mr. HCB was quite happy to be fed, so he was OK with it too - and can you believe that between us we have lost 5 stone!

We did chat about many other things and had a great time catching up with Heidi - so I decided that the “selfie” should be my main shot and the various flowers that are still blooming in our garden have been relegated to an extra.  We really can’t believe that so many flowers are still looking this good and there are more, but the 25 in my collage are happy to have their 15 minutes of fame on Blip.  There are more roses, snapdragons, fuchsias, pansies, violas, hollyhocks, and a great number of chrysanthemums, as well as cyclamen, borage and still lots of other dahlias.

As we waved Heidi off on her journey home, Mr. HCB looked up at the sky and told us it was going to be a cold one tonight, so there might not be quite as many flowers blooming tomorrow! However, he said when I go to the Community Fridge tomorrow, he will spend the morning in his greenhouse, sorting out the geraniums, so we will both have a busy morning.

Even as I type, Mr. HCB is sorting out the kitchen, so I can sit down this evening and put my feet up - which is great!  Hope you all have a good evening.  M xx
