A smiling welcome

Took a quick trip to the shopping centre to see if I could find an optician as I noticed the leg of my glasses was a bit askew. The assistant at Vision Express tried her best but apparently the hinge is bent and the threads on the screw are shot! Just as well I brought a spare pair.

We headed to the blue and yellow warehouse for breakfast and picked up yet more last minute items before finishing the packing and checking out. We sat in reception until taxi time and we were processed very efficiently and in our cabin 5 minutes after our designated embarkation time.

Found our cabin easily and had a lovely ploughman’s in the onboard pub with a small beer flight, just because!

A bit of exploring and checked in at our muster station with none other than John Sargeant (one of our guest speakers) behind me in the queue, not that I noticed. Mr PHL had to point him out. Back to the cabin and our cases had arrived so we’re all unpacked and currently sitting on the terrace bar at the aft of the ship waiting to join in with the sail away party. We depart these shores at 6.30.

I’ll be unable to comment or post until we land in New York on the 20th so I’m turning comments off. See you on the other side of the Atlantic.
