The New Room
As part of a walk around Bristol's Old Market and London Road, exploring some of the history of the area, we ended up at Wesley's "New Room" - the oldest Methodist building in the world. It was created by John Wesley in 1739 as a meeting place for religious societies. However, it proved to be too small and so was rebuilt at double the size in 1748.
Now there is a very good cafe at the back.
