A walk with Dougal the Scottie dog
This afternoon we met up with our little friend, Dougal the Scottie dog, again.
For those of you who have been following our Blips over the last couple of days (see here & here); you will know that Dougal is an old boy, who has cancer and hasn't got long to live. Actually, he's doing really well.............. He was given 4 months to live in February and he's still going strong.
Today we met him down on Porty beach again and I had half an hour of playtime with my ball while Dougal (& Iain) sat and watched us.
Then we popped Dougal into his stroller and had a meander along the prom, where we stopped at the 'Beach House' so that the humans could have a coffee.
Dougal loves it in his stroller and he loves it on the beach. He might be very ill & unable to walk, but he's still alert. He loves to feel the sand on his paws (& his nose) and we could tell that he loved being in his stroller watching everything that was going on around him.
Unfortunately, I didn't get as much playtime with my ball as I would have liked, but I totally understand that Dougal's needs had to come first. And tbh, I was still out for one and a half hours, so I'm pretty tired now.
Iain is only looking after Dougal for a week, so I'm not going to see him again. Booohooo. Ann is going out for lunch tomorrow, so I'll be going on a long morning walk, and then her sister is coming for the weekend so we'll be doing stuff with Jill, and once she goes home, Dougal will be back in his own home.
I've had a lovely three days with you Dougal. It's been a privilege to spend time with you. xxx
