Boats and bowls
This evening Sarah, Kerri and I watched Kensuke's Kingdom, a new animation of the story by Michael Morpurgo, and in which Sarah and Gavin's daughter Holly drew lots of the backgrounds, most specifically the sailing boat and bowls of fruit... It is a beautiful, moving story and the animation allows the portrayal of scenes and angles that would not be possible in film.
I was late arriving for tea at Kerri's as I was busy cancelling all my bank cards having been taken in by a scammer pretending to be Booking.com and threatening to cancel my hotel booking in France. It was very convincing and I gave the scammers three different card details before smelling a rat....
So, it was great to spend an evening with supportive friends.
In this scene we spotted that Holly has drawn her name on the book-background, which is apparently common practice for animators and rather delightful.
I would heartily recommend this lovely film, you can watch a trailer here.
