PRE-HIBERNATION NAP

We're at the zoo in Milwaukee looking at Grizzly Bears (Ursus arctos horribilis); not too active today but ready for hibernation.  Clearly, this one has plenty of lard stored up for the long sleep.

They eat a lot of grasses, sedges and other plants but are also formidable predators on all sorts of animals from small prairie dog types and Arctic Fox  all the way up to moose.  They will also scavenge.  Males can weigh up to 600 pounds..(272kg)....females somewhat  smaller but no less formidable.  The zoo probably feeds them Purina Grizzly Chow.  lol

BEST IN LARGE.
