Now, as I see it......

Sprouts

Despite the fact we are surrounded by mature woodland, we get very few birds in the garden.  They simply don't seem to have gained the confidence to visit after the builders left the site a couple of years or so ago.  Quite a few wood pigeons and the occasional robin, wren and wagtail, but I mean occasional.  I've put seed feeders out; the conventional type and these bird shaped ones, but the birds studiously ignore them.  I suppose I should clean this out and try again but I have done in the past to no avail, so I've just let it sprout.

On a positive note, my own garden is starting to mature nicely now, which means there is starting to be some more dense foliage that would provide shelter for them.  Our neighbours at the back have recently had their garden landscaped which has included a large and attractive tree near our fence, so that should provide a refuge for birds once it grows leaves next year.  I know it will take time but hopefully we can encourage some to visit us next year.
