Bright spots
No idea what this shrub is. I was reduced to the garden for my blip today!
We started the day by going to the huge out of town M&S to do a food shop; during his stays here, S has become a fan. Dazzled by the huge array of tempting items, we spent an enormous sum, but we now have plenty of nice food. He dropped me at home with the shopping, then went to the hospital to help his mum eat lunch, while I pot-roasted a chicken with winter vegetables. His mum’s old oven, which burnt absolutely everything if you didn’t check constantly, packed up just before Christmas last year, and the new one might as well be a slow cooker. I kept cranking the heat up, and the chicken (admittedly large) still took two hours to cook. We were starving by then. It was good though.
S’s mum is much the same; she did eat a little more today. Niece A has just arrived for a few days and has popped out to see her, though I’m sure she’ll be sound asleep. Dinner has been a few sausage rolls and some cheese (including Wensleydale, a treat!) with oatcakes.
