Thought a lot about my Papa today, my mum’s Dad, who fought in the trenches in WW1. His nickname was ‘Black Bob’ you can see why with his black hair . He was handsome, but of course I don’t remember him like this.

Also his brother Alexander who also was in the Black Watch , but a different battalion who was killed in October 1917 at Passchendaele .
