The famous author
We had to get up ridiculously early to tidy the house because we were expecting two lots of visitors over the weekend, and because I knew the road resurfacing work might be very loud, so I'd have to escape. Work done, I went to town and, later then expected, my friend E arrived from Perthshire via Wiltshire, where she had been collecting a kayak for her daughter in Fort William. We had coffee at the Sub rooms, the town's main live ents venue, and from the book festival programne she chose author Kate Mosse, and we both found something for Saturday. We were able to get tickets for both.
After lunch at the Trinity Rooms, we went home and a few hours later set off for Lansdown Hall and Kate Mosse. She was very knowledgeable, and the talk did make me want to read her latest novel, even though hardbacks are too heavy to be practical. We both agreed how impressive she was, and Engit done books signed.
Walked home again, to a supper prepared by Steve. How lucky we are!
