Living my dream

Perennial cornflower

There is a wonderful raggedy display of these flowers in K's garden. I really like them. So I'll uproot a couple of the plants (which spread quickly) once they stop flowering and bring them home to provide more interest (and more competition against weeds) in one of my unruly flowerbeds.

Thanks for the comments and stars yesterday. I extended my rest right through until mid-afternoon today, by which time rain had set in. So I caught up with indoors jobs and then returned to resting.

The rain has been so persistent that we haven't even been for a walk today. I felt almost as uninterested as Bean in getting soaked.

I had a lovely chat with brother #1 and my niece (his daughter) this morning. I derived more comfort than ever from exchanging an hour of conversation with these near and dears.

It is noticeable that I am seeking extra comfort in books, food, favourite old clothes and people at the moment. I wonder if I - like millions of others - am experiencing a low-level anxiety as a result of the US elections?
