Restless Natives

Sitting eating my lunch in Falkirk, I spotted this mural with a heavy shadow cast from a nearby tree and thought, “ Blip!”

Some research tells me this was created to mask the ugliness of the building, and I need to agree it’s much better than looking at a brown, corrugated industrial building. The mural depicts the Battle of Falkirk, which took place in 1298, so I’m wondering if Lorraine Kelly and James Cosmo are time travellers from a bygone era?

Have a great weekend, whatever you are up to.

Alone among the hills and stone
Through summer sun and winter snow
The eagle he was lord above
And Rob was lord below
240 years
We lived without hope and without pride
So who will know where they come from
Who raised a torch for those who died’
